I think I’ve mentioned that we read Psalms and Proverbs in the morning with our school-aged kids. Well, this morning we were reading Psalm 62 and here is what it said in verse 11:
One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard; “Power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;
Did you catch that? It’s a message for #TeamJustus! Power belongs to you, God… in other words, God is able. Regardless of what you face in life today please know that God is able. Big or small, God is able to handle whatever you are dealing with. Whether you have lost your job, your spouse, or your weeping over a sick child in the hospital, never doubt that power belongs to God.
And with you, Lord, is unfailing love… in other words, God is good. Whether we understand what is happening or can see the big picture, trust in the goodness of God. Someone once said, “God answers the prayer you would pray if you knew everything He knows.” Circumstances don’t change God’s love for you. I’m not saying it’s easy… I’m saying it’s true. God is good… all the time! And yes, all the time… God is good!
When life is racing by, it’s easy to forget God and our relationship with him. But then a storm hits and suddenly we’re very aware of God or maybe what we perceive as the absence of God. The hard part is to remember what Hebrews 13:8 tells us:
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
So it may seem that God has suddenly deserted us, but the truth is, He has stayed steady throughout. We are the ones who have moved. How do I know this? Well first of all, because God’s word tells me so. But second, because in my life when I’ve neglected my relationship with God, He seems so distant. But as soon as I begin to work on my connection with the Lord, things change. God didn’t suddenly become different… I did! Jeremiah 33:3 says “Call to me and I will answer you…”
If your life is the best it’s ever been… then God is able and God is good. If you are in the middle of the perfect storm… then God is able and God is good. Regardless of your situation, Jesus wants to have a close relationship with you. Call to Him and He will answer you! Those aren’t idle words. Those are words of life for you and for me.
As you can see by the pictures, Justus had an active day. His father called it a “lil American Ninja Warrior Obstacle Course!” I also wanted to let you know he turned a little corner with his mouth. There is still a long way to go, but somewhat the first significant improvement in movement happened in the last couple of days, so thank-you for the prayers. Please keep them coming.
So #TeamJustus we are so grateful for the way you have called to God on our behalf of our little warrior. Of all the things you could do, prayer is the best! After all, power belongs to you, God, and with you, Lord is unfailing love. God is able and God is good and the moon is round!
