Thank-you #TeamJustus! I’m asking for a little grace tonight. We had a full day today and not very much sleep last night. So I’m asking permission to give you a quick report about Justus tonight. I promise in the morning after we have just a little more information, I’ll write a more complete update.
The biggest answer to prayer today was YOU! We still don’t know exactly how many have responded to our roll call, but there have been a lot. There were too many churches to count, but it was humbling to hear from so many churches that prayed for Justus today. And once again it reminds me; this is so much bigger than Justus. Anytime we come together as a community to love and support each other, it brings a smile to God’s face. OK, I don’t know if that’s exactly how it works, but I know it pleases God.
The little guy is a strong boy, but he still needs your prayers. This morning I reported they upped the drug level for the induced coma and they increased the length of time he stays in the coma, from 48 to 72 hours. Needless to say it was a little disheartening for the parents and the grandparents. We prayed for belief and not doubt to fill our hearts. As it turned out Justus had a good day. We got the desired brain activity and as of Sunday night he was resting peacefully. His vitals continue to hang in there. And it would appear it is holding steady.
However he still hasn’t had a bowel movement. And we still don’t know what is happening with the actual virus. Remember, on the fourth MRI it appeared the spread of the virus had almost stopped. Technically until he has another MRI we won’t know for sure. Pray that while Justus continues to rest and stay calm, Jesus is wielding a sword to protect Justus’ brain. Pray for rest for the entire onsite TeamJustus crew. Everyone is getting pretty rundown. And of course pray for a bowel movement!
So I promise to get you fully updated tomorrow morning. The image today is once again just to help you get a little idea of the kind of kid Justus is. In addition we’ve had some requests for a family picture. So here is our latest family picture. Thanks for joining me in prayer. God is on the move!!!
